From September 24 to 27, 2026, the Fiera di Roma will host Skillfully (creativity and craftsmanship) and Hyrox Rome (fitness): two very different audiences, but with a shared need for venues in the city to host workshops, presentations, and related events.
Abilmente and Hyrox Roma: two different audiences, one common need for a venue
The two events are being held at the same venue — the Rome Fair — but they cater to completely different worlds: on the one hand, enthusiasts of creativity, hobbies, and crafts; on the other, athletes and competitive fitness enthusiasts. Both audiences, however, generate a demand for urban spaces for related activities that is worth tapping into.
Organizing a side event at a trade show with two such different audiences therefore requires separate planning for each target group, even when using the same area of the city: the content, schedules, and even the type of setup required for a sewing workshop and a demonstration training session could not be more different.
Venues for events related to creative fairs and workshops (Abilmente)
For hands-on workshops and presentations of artisanal products, Caboto Event Venue, in Ostiense, is a former industrial space that can be set up for both audience-style events and workshops, with an outdoor area suitable for outdoor demonstrations when the weather permits. The Event Venues in Balestrino, nestled in the greenery of Casalotti, offers a more intimate and informal setting with a garden, ideal for workshops with smaller groups or hands-on sessions that require more space per participant.
Both are located near the Fiera di Roma, the venue for Abilmente Roma Fall 2026 (September 24–27, dates confirmed on the official website), a logistical advantage for those who want to organize a side event without straying too far from the convention center.
Venues for Events and Sports Experiences (Hyrox)
For events related to the fitness world, the Masaccio Event Space, in Flaminio, offers 900 square meters of indoor space in an impressive facility, specifically designed for large-scale productions and workshops: a capacity that lends itself well to demonstration training sessions or a networking event tied to the sporting event, perhaps with an area for product trials or equipment demonstrations.
Anyone organizing a fitness-related event should also check the durability of the floors and ensure there are changing rooms or designated areas for changing: details that may seem minor but have a significant impact on the quality of the experience for participants in an event with a physical component.
A tip for those who organize side events at trade shows
When an event is designed to complement a larger trade show, it’s important to clearly inform participants of the actual distance from the main trade show venue and the most convenient ways to get there: many visitors plan their day around the trade show’s schedule, and an event perceived as too far away or difficult to reach risks lower-than-expected attendance.
